Columbia County, Florida temporarily needs a different venue to hold their annual football jamboree, an event relished by the community. It could be moved to Annie Mattox Park, but allegations surfaced that a person who is forced to register sits on the park board. The association said they will be looking elsewhere.
The cancelation sparked an uproar at Thursday night’s Columbia County Commissioners’ meeting, which was September 16, 2021. So far, the video is not up at https://www.columbiacountyga.gov/county/commissions/agenda-and-minutes.
This man with a past sex offense was accepted on the board for Annie Mattox Park. That tells us a lot, mainly that he is NOT re-offending and is a law-abiding citizen. What is wrong with the Columbia Youth Football Association? Lack of knowledge.
Several weeks ago, Annie Mattox Park had to be closed following a weekend shooting incident; yet, the Columbia Youth Football Association is okay with that but not having a man who learned from his past mistake(s) and is now acknowledged by his peers to be worthy of serving on a park board.

Meh. If they want to destroy their own community because of their prejidus, they deserve it.
Gang members sealing drugs, vandalizing and getting into shootouts at the park should of been the main topic at the commissioners meeting, sounds like the football players had a better chance of getting shot then raped or molested by this guy.
Just because a person is forced to register doesn’t mean their not part of the community they live in, one of the biggest strategies the DOJ played on registrant’s was keeping them isolated and separated from each outher an for the last 25 years it’s been working.
Think about how many times you’ve went on Megan’s law website and look up how many people forced to register lived in your neighborhood and saw thousands of red and blue dots pop up with peoples name, age, sex and locations and never once tried to reach out to another person suffering and living the same Hell as you.
If people forced to register would stop hiding in the shadows and organize with other people in their communities on the registry they could worn each other that law enforcement is in the neighborhood doing compliance checks and sex offender taskforce sweeps ect.
Megan’s law website also lists people’s convictions so you know if someones an violent predator and my not be safe to approach but for the most part alot people are on the registry for nonviolent crimes.

Why are they doing this? It is simple. They figure that if they do this there will be backlash and if they hold the jamboree there will be a backlash if someone makes it known out loud that a registrant sits on the board. So they weigh out the backlashes on both and pick the least of two evils – that is cancel it and pick a different place to hold it. They figure they will have much more support for this decision than if they went the other way. This is just stupid thinking.
Oh, and because it is Flori-Dah!! we are talking about.
You know we all can talk about school boards, associations, organizations or even government get togethers a bit self-centered but who actually knows what a person’s past is. Whether one is even catholic, baptist, Presbyterain or whatever seems a bit much. Offensive behavior, government attacks, entrapping or trapping one is deceitful by many means and methods. Don’t we all offend in one way or another.
Isn’t the main function of any organization to provide a service. Yes police are providing a service but with a deceptive catch unjust and unconstitutional. Guess we all should go back and remember the song ” your so vain”. If that gives one food for thought than the sword is justice and much of this registry is a romper room kangeroo type justice even many orgazinations are a bit off keyed. Even much of this registry inducement is self-centered.
Football is dangerous to play. The purveyors of the sport have gone to great lengths to change the game to make it less dangerous, but it still is. So it is safe to presume the group isn’t really concerned about the safety issue, or at least it is not a top priority. IMO there is something else afoot in this case. Given that venue cancellation was prescribed by the complainers as the appropriate action, another venue would get the business benefit from hosting the jamboree instead. Subterfuge may be in play. Our world is that competitive, and given our leadership on both sides of the aisle regularly engage in undermining the other is it any wonder why the people follow suit? How counterproductive can the disruption be considering the complaint is about one solitary man? A truth is having a reformed offender on site may actually make the park safer from the active predator. Certainly parents would be more vigilante in maintaining contact with children.

A: The kids in the youth football program!
How far does CYFA extend this concern? Did they check out the supplier from whom they purchased their uniforms? What about the mechanic who repairs the buses on which the youth ride? Did they check out the relatives of all the youth? Uncles? Grandparents? What about the youth themselves? (Aren’t 20% of those on Registries minors?)
😱 OMG!! What if one of CYFA sponsors – unbeknownst to CYFA – is on Florida’s forever Registry!!??
